LEED-Certified Affordable Housing

 

The Mosholu Gardens project is a 64-unit LEED Silver supportive housing in the Norwood section of Bronx, New York. This 7-story, 35,000 square foot building features residential units with private kitchens and bathrooms, indoor and outdoor communal gathering spaces, as well as supportive services and spaces.

The challenges presented by this site - its sits on bedrock, on a steep incline, and an odd lot configuration - facilitated opportunities for creating a multi-layered design with a variety of garden environments.

Energy Efficient By Design: Low-Income Senior Housing

 

West Tremont Avenue is a six-story affordable housing project, in Bronx New York, consisting of 60 one-bedroom units intended to serve low and very-low income populations of seniors and special needs residents who can age in place.

The project includes a recreational space in the rear, with both landscaped and paved areas for residents. The building was developed to meet the energy efficient standards of the NYSERDA Multi-Family Performance Program as well it was constructed on a formerly brownfield-designated site that was remediated through the NYC Office of Environmental Remediation and its NYC Brownfield Cleanup Program.
